Be a Tourist in Your Own Town Commercial Spot for Charleston’s Vistors Bureau

When the Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau requested a thirty second spot from GTT, we wanted to do something that complimented their current ad campaign. In the past we’ve done a lot of video spots for them, but the marketing materials associated with their “Be a Tourist in Your Own Town” campaign were all illustrations. In order to tie into their other collateral, we decided to animate the spot.

Working in Photoshop we created various layers to be brought into Final Cut Pro for keyframing and compositing. Once all the graphics were prepped and the keyframing complete, we had a spot that fit right into the rest of their marketing material. We also had a happy client.

Although the animation wasn’t particularly complicated, it didn’t need to be. It need to have the same feel as the rest of their campaign and in the end it did. Take a look at the video above.
