08 Sep Universal’s Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is now Rolling!
With cutting-edge technology, several first-ever maneuvers, songs from five different music genres, and a personalized music video you can take home, Universal Orlando Resort’s Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, is now open!
Go To Team’s Orlando crew – DP/Partner Dan Beckmann, Executive Producer, Sue Stauffer, and Lead Digital Artist, Giovanni Sensat – helped create animation and graphics, as well as capturing – in High Definition – creative shots from every conceivable angle of the roller coaster’s unique track. The GTT crew shot from scaffolding, cherry picker lifts, platforms, and rooftops in Universal Studios Florida to showcase the ride’s thrills. The elements were assembled into several projects designed to build excitement for the attraction launch.
Rockit features three first-ever maneuvers: the Double Take, the world’s largest non-inverted loop; the Treble Clef, where guests burst through a building facade on track shaped like the music symbol; and the Jump Cut, a spiraling, negative-gravity move.
And with ground-breaking technology, Rockit now offers guests a never-before-seen experience. Using a personalized touch pad mounted on the ride vehicles, guests are able to toggle their way through a variety of music selections – from Classic Rock/Metal, Rap/Hip-Hop, Club/Electronica, Pop/Disco or Country – each seat is outfitted with individual stereo speakers, allowing each guest to hear only their selected music track.
During the ride, the song becomes the soundtrack. And through the use of on-board and off-board cameras, a music video captures all the action, allowing guests to purchase their experience. The video mixes ride footage, music, and special effects and is available as soon as riders get off the roller coaster. Guests can purchase their video in DVD and email-able formats to share with family and friends at designated Rockit kiosks or from home by visiting myuniversalphotos.com.
“Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is where adrenaline, music and technology meet – no two experiences will be the same,” said Mark Woodbury, President of Creative for Universal Parks & Resorts. “This roller coaster is a game-changing addition to the remarkable attractions here at Universal Orlando Resort.”
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit’s song list features the latest and the legendary of the music world including the Black Eyed Peas, No Doubt, Kanye West, Evanescence, N.E.R.D., Montgomery Gentry and Donna Summer.
