Charleston Crew and Weather Channel tackle Hurricane Earl

Hurricane Earl fills the streets

Earl fills the streets

Go To Team’s Charleston based Baker crew headed north to Kill Devil Hills with the Weather Channels Jeff Murrow in search of Hurricane Earl. The 70 MPH gusts and storm surge were no match for the Go To Team hurricane survival kit. This kit, standard for GTT Crews, consists of the  Sony D600 16×9 switchable Betacam, a slew of waterproof Bron Kobold HMI’s, several hundred feet of power cable, top notch lectrosonics wireless audio gear, gallons of emergency gas, a pop up tent to provide shade during the pre and post hurricane coverage, and an inverter modified vehicle  to power more than enough lighting to run live shots until the cows came home.  After all was said and done Earl proved to have more bark than bite, and despite some long hours for everyone, the storm came and went with very little inconvenience for the talent, the crew, or the town.
