About Roger:
- What cameras and equipment have you worked with the most?
I primarily work with the Canon C300 Mark II and EF prime lenses. The Canon 5D Mrk 4 is usually my dedicated B-CAM. However, I’m no stranger to the Sony F5 & F55. I work with Lite Panels, Kino’s, and Arri fixtures on a regular basis. I have a Mavic Pro 2 and Ronin S in my kit as well.
- Do you specialize in a specific shoot style?
Given all of my experience as DP on Fixer Upper, Flip or Flop: Ft. Worth, and countless other HGTV shows I think it’s safe to say I have my PHD in Home Renovation Shows. But my specialty is that I can do it all. My specialty is telling stories through captivating lighting and composition.
- How long have you been filming?
I have been shooting professionally since 2006. (13 years) But I’ve been shooting basically since the sixth grade. The first camera I ever shot on was the old family RCA VHS camcorder.
- Do you have a favorite project you’ve worked on?
I really did enjoy working on Fixer Upper. I learned a lot from the experience and made a couple life long friends too. I’ve been on too many cool shoots to remember them all. Honorable mentions go to literally any NASCAR shoot, walking the bowels of the Pentagon with Jesse Ventura, and flying to Poland to do an E-Sports profile on Neo for Turner Sports.
