Atlanta Crew Hang Out With Rap Legend for Club Shay Shay Shoot

The Volume’s hit podcast, Club Shay Shay, hit the road to Atlanta where Senior DP, Nate Silverman, and St Louis DP, Manny Frances, shot the most recent interview with rapper, 21 Savage.

Shot on Sony FX9’s and a Sony FX6 on a Dana Dolly for the wide shot, Nate used a variety of Nanlite light heads to light the scene. Keying with a Nanlite Forza 300 through a lantern and two more Nanlite Forza’s and softboxes for a fill with pavotubes for hair lights. To light the background Nanlite Forza 60’s with fresnel heads were used to add shape and highlights to the otherwise blank walls.

Sony 28-135mm G-Series lenses were used for the singles while a Canon L-series 16-35mm was used for the wide shot. Attached on the dana dolly was a eMotimo ST4 to automate the dolly move for the duration of the hours long interview.
