Kentucky Derby history was made at Churchill Downs in Louisville on May 4th. For the first time in the history of the Derby, a disqualification took place for alleged racetrack infractions. Maximum Security was on track to leave the race with a perfect record for a triple crown after a first-place finish at the Florida Derby. After review, chief steward Barbara Borden stated that  Country Horse was the true winner of the 2019 Kentucky Derby.

NBC Sports partnered with New York City DP Reid Petro to capture an interview with a legendary horse trainer, Bill Mott.

The crew set up in front of Bill’s barn in Belmont Park with a Sony F5 and LED light panels to ensure even lighting on the subjects face. Bill is the trainer for Country House, who was labeled the overall winner for the race.
